  1. The Good, the Bad, and the damned right Ugly...

I've been a few shoots since my last post so figured I'd let you know how the hinge work is coming along.

First up was the SCAS Individual Field Champs over at Panther, and considering that I didn't have time to sort out a decent cheat system I was looking forward to the shoot. And because I didn't have a proper cheat sorted out I therefore not only started in the unmarked half... I started at the start of the unmarked half... and you know what?? Apart from a couple poor shots I rocked ...

  2. On the Masters and Middlesex...

Three days of shooting this weekend, my UK Master debut followed by the Middlesex FITA on the Monday. And despite it being a bit blustery at Lilleshall (when is it not??) I stuck with the plan of shooting the hinge, though I was worried as I knew that to shoot it I would have to stay relaxed... the more tense you get the hard it can be to get it to work.

The first day is the 720 (50m) followed by the H2H. I was pleasently surprised at how well my shoot went. With the exception of ...

  3. Grasping at the positives...

Last weekend I shot the British Field Champs at Overton and like I promised myself I shot it with the BT... though not the Evo as I had practiced that on the Friday before and it hadn't been going as well as the hinge... so hinge it was!!

The first day shooting in The Combe was... interesting... Not so much shooting the hinge but trying to shoot in the strong blustery wind... Wow... coming across the top was tough but I got through it before getting into the second half which was ...

  4. Taking the challenge...

Last weekend was the Raven and Hampshire Field Champs just south of Petersfield (wow, a localish shoot for once!!), and it was most enjoyable. The guy directing traffic took great joy in explaining that the course this weekend would be even tougher than you'd expect at Pentref. Whilst there were some quite tough targets... and I've yet to work out why this year I seem to be starting courses on 15/20m downhill bunnies... I didn't think the course was really that tough. There was a lot of climbing, ...

  5. A month down the road...

So, a month after what could only be described as a horrible trip around the Pentref course I returned for the two day Chris Farr shoot in what looked to be best described as "interesting" conditions. Very wet and muddy underfoot with the potential to be very wet in the air (ie - rainy) with strong winds to boot... Oh joy.

Whilst on the practice field I was a little bit punchy, not shooting quite as properly as I had been down the field and this, as it turns out, was indicative ...
