  1. One down, one to go!

Eliza and I ran the Race for Life today! I have done it every year since my dad died, even when I was pregnant, and although this year's wasn't my best time, it wasn't my worst either! 30 mins and 30 secs, not too bad on a hot day, with a cold! My fabulous daughter did it in 24 mins though! She must be part hare!

Next weekend is a busy one for me, shooting in the club short metrics on Saturday and then walking from Maldon to Chelmsford (22k for you non Essex bods) on Sunday. That's ...

  2. Fun Fun Fun!!!!

I had really forgotten what fun archery was! So glad to be back! I'd been feeling very nervous about looking a total twit and not being able to put my bow together etc, so thought I'd take both my bows (Matrix and Grozer Hunnish) and start with the hun, moving on to the recurve if I was feeling brave. Had a blast ...

  3. WMAS FITA Star

Haven't shot a great deal mid week since Kirby, just Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the club for the past couple of weeks. As the club shoot at a school there was no shooting over the bank holidays. The long weekends have meant plenty has been done in the garden though.

A bit of car bother on Saturday morning meant I didn't make it to Lilleshall for the first day of the WMAS FITA Star. Instead going to visit friends in Leamington for their 2 year old son's birthday party. Had intended ...

  4. So.... it's been a while

Been a *long* time since I posted one of these thingys (though, I've also only been posting again the last week or so.. mostly been floating around)

Getting really used to all the changes I made on this years Welsh Squad, and the shots are starting to get good, as well as the groups and consistency, which is awesome.

The main thing I've been doing recently is using a formaster to help build back muscles/ get correct back tension during the shot and it's going ...

  5. Practice and competitions

How things change. I have always said that I shoot better in competitions that practice. This is mostly due to my concentration and focus levels in competitions being so much better than in practice, however, I think that this weekend for the first time ever this has been reversed.

I have been shooting a reasonable amount over the past few weeks, far more than I have in the last year anyway, and with a faairly hefty change in style, I've been really happy with how I have been shooting. ...
