  1. Painful experiences

    by , 08-05-12 at 12:48 PM
Yesterday training session made me thinking about the early history of the mankind. About the first humans intelligent enough to share their experience with the others. Today, we have an idea about many dangerous situations in our life and we are trying to avoid them as far as we know how. If we donīt know we have to try and hope. Walking on the thin ice just to get the experience that itīs too thin or eating mushrooms looking for the edible ones are that kinds of situations humans needed to move ...

  2. Completing the art

Iīve said once, I want to master the art of archery. Practicing the olympic recurve for a while and slowly getting the idea of the correct form made me thinking about the ways how to push it further. I already had the idea because of my past target pistol efforts - if there is a disruption of mind because of some specific part of the proces then I should work with a little extreme solution = ex. problem with the eye blinking and twitching the muscles at the moment of the air pistol shot triggered ...

Interesting, very interesting. I started archery in the mid-summer last year and ended the outdoor season at the 70m so with my beginners bow I was threatening the airplanes with my mortar style a little. At the mid of the indoor season I started to suffer some sort of form downswings. I know that this was caused by two things. The first is that ...

  4. Getting an advantage of the disease

There is a statement I like about avoiding the changes in you setup right before competition and during the competition. There could be a lot of factors that can distract you and your form and the resulting need for a change or corrections are considered statistically meaningless so the changes will only hurt your average scoring. But as usual, for every rule there could be an exception...

  5. The traditionalist in me...

    by , 27-02-12 at 10:00 AM
During the general cleanup at my parents home, it was like digging into the past. I had found the bow I made about ten years ago. Itīs made of the Black Locust (Robinia acacia) onepiece. I remeber that I have red somewhere that the italians were using this wood for their bows in the past... I was making the primitive musical instruments(berimbau) that time and learnt to find the nice sounding wood - the hardest, so i looked for the similar piece for my bows. I wasnīt able to find a single arrow ...
