Anyone have experience with the different types of limb on offer at Uukha?

The top model is out of my price range, so I'm looking at their Hx10, but for some reason there don't seem to be many of them around. I guess because most of their market is either top archers shooting Ux100 or intermediate archers shooting Ex10?

Given the difference in price and the quality of the manufacturing, I'm beginning to wonder whether I would be happy enough with a set of Ex10? They would replace a set of Samick Masters - maybe hard to compare wood limbs to the Uukha but would I notice the difference between the 25% and 50% carbon?

Uukha's website has a helpful chart comparing the different models with their (unnamed) upper-end competitors, but I'd be interested to hear from people who have actually tried them.

Hi everybody!

I shoot a Bowtech Guardian and absolutely love it, always had a thing for this model but the only thing I don't like about it is the grip. The side plates on it dont match the colour of the bow, and the exposed riser at the back is rounded which doesn't sit too comfortably in the hand. You can see this in the following picture...

I wanted something flat on the back like the grips on most modern compounds I have looked at so went looking and found a few options. Among them were Torqueless Grips that make custom grips for most bows, in a bewildering choice of colours and styles so I worked out what I wanted, placed my order and it turned up in the post once Customs had finished dragging thier heels with it...

The grip feels absolutely fantastic, it was a doddle to fit and sits beautifully in the hand and matches the bow beautifully in my opinion! The flat back and throat section is very comfortable compared to the stock grip, and the 'nose' part at the top makes consistent hand placement easy.

Very pleased with the grip and wanted to show it off! By the way, if anybody is wondering, my bow was nicknamed Vasquez after the Aliens character, because she's viscious :)

Hi Everybody

I have just registered and already enjoy the sharing possibilities! :)

I really need help on a quite rare problem, so little information on it it might look like a myth: too low anchor point for long distances...

I heard 38 pounds (minimum) are enough to reach 90 meters and I am actually shooting 40 pounds on the finger (34 pounds 70 inches wooden limbs on 31 inches draw length; my problem is my visor is really down on all distances... even on 18 or 30 meters, my visor is lower than bow 2 to 6 pounds less powerful... On 70 meters i am full down and full back and i am afraid i might never get to 90 meters even with 60 pounds limbs... I heard my problem is that my eye to chin distance is too small and that i should find a way to lower my anchor point, best way found is by biting in something to gain approx. 2 cms to 1 inch...

Has anyone ever faced or heard of the same problem please? I really do need help to find a solution to lower my anchor point... Has anyone ever heard of archery mouthpieces or even something that might have this use?

Thanks a lot if you can help guys!
Happy to have joined,
Cheers

Hi all,

Thinking of buying 3 acg's to see if I get a better tune from my current acc's, with the idea to upgrade to a dozen acg's. If they tune well, I understand buying a further 9 to make up the dozen could be a problem seeing as they are usually sold in matched sets.

Has anyone else found this is a problem, is there really such a tolerence in these arrows?

I can try before I buy the arrows at the retailers, but in all honesty, I think a better idea of the arrows tune is easier to see when shooting at a variety of distances rather than 20yds in the shop.

Any advice gladly received.

Hi all,

I am trying to get Archery into the UK Corporate Games; an annual multi-sports festival open to all businesses and organisations (private and public sector) in the UK, and I need your help.

This year's event will be held in Preston on the weekend of the 12th-15th of July, and the organisers are keen to see a demonstration of archery with a have a go session. They have a large hall in the sports village that isn't being used, so we have a safe environment, and especially on the Saturday there will be a large number of friends and family of the competitors, many of whom will be fairly local

So, would any clubs in the Preston area like to run a have-a-go session over this weekend? This is a great chance to raise your profile, get some new members and give us a chance at getting our sport into a great event next year!

Also, the organisers and I appreciate that this is a long-term programme, so if you would like to participate in the Games if archery was represented, please let me know because the more interest we get the better our chances. All options are on the table so age and bow style don't matter at the moment, please just express your interest!

If you are interested in either part of this, please contact me at:

I shot (badly) at the AGB National Series at Oxford at the weekend (thanks Oxford great shoot) and during both days they played music over the PA system. Personally I thought this was great, made the waits whilst judgey things happened more bearable and generally lifted the spirits of most people. Personally I would like to see this at more shoots ... but it got me thinking about shooting at the club where even light talking can be frowned at.....
Does anyone know what the diffrence is between the Carbon Pro and the ultimate risers from SF, obviously the paint job and a slight diffrence in the weights but apart from that they look identical.
any one shot either of them and what do they think of them?

Also looking at the ultimate limbs which look good but not really heard much about them, again any one got or shot these whats your opinion?

Thanks in advance for any replys

When do you change limbs

The following are the details of her setup

My daughter has been shooting her Hoyt Excel for a year now. It is a 21" riser with short 20lb Hoyt Excel limbs and her arrow length is 22.5 inches.

The tiller has been adjusted for maximum poundage with the correct setup.

She has about 7mm left of adjustment on the clicker and then the arrow is too short for the clicker

Her arrows are 22.5" Jazz 1214's 70 grain points, qiuckspin vanes and beiter nock (this setup is correct and tuned for her bow and style)

She is pulling 19.5lbs on the above setup.

I know she will need new arrows by autumn, but do I change her limbs to a higher poundage when I get the longer arrows and if so by how much? 2lbs? 4lbs? I don't want to put too much pressure on her as she is only 10.

She is shooting well and has good form.

Should I stay with the hoyt limbs? or are there other good beginner/intermediate limbs I should think about?

Also how much longer should the arrows be?

I was thinking of the Carbon Express Medallion XR 2000 (1800?), Sky Art SF Carbon 2000(1800?), or the Easton Jazz XX75 1413(1416?).

Any help about the limbs or arrows would be useful
