chest guard

I tend to simply wear fairly tight-fitting t-shirt to shoot but going to the european archery festival in january and wondering whether or not it is worth investing in a chest guard...anyone with any impartial advice on this?

if you don't normally wear one there is no reason to suddenly start. If you do have string contact on your chest it might be an idea to wear one to help with having a consistent surface for the string to touch. Otherwise no need to worry.

Hmmm, thanks for that, i don't normally wear one but do have chest string contact. It's just that no-one bothers using them at our club so wasn't sure...i'll have a chat with one of our coaches see what he thinks.

If it's fairly light contact, and you're wearing the same shirt every time it shouldn't be that much of a problem. But if there's the chance you might wear a jumper (maybe it's cold) a chest guard becomes a form of consistency for the contact.

Then the next trick is to get the right size!! ;)
