    stealthshot,sts,do they work?

I have just seen the new compounds from Hoyt for 07.Some have a string suppressor device called a 'stealthshot' fitted. I was wondering if anyone this side of the pond has tried the similar system that has been available in the States called the STS and what they think.
I am in the process of making my own version to fit on my Trykon XL to see what effect this has on the shot and to hopefully stop some of the 'twang'.

    I have an STS

I got rid of my serving cutters (string suppressors) on my outback and installed an STS I have since shot three new PB's. I am not saying this is down to the STS but rather that it has not had a detrimental effect on the bows performance.

Last time I removed the suppressors on the bow it was noisy and shot awful so I bought some more.

I think greydog uses one and I know he is shooting well

Yep I use them and think they are great. They really take out the vibration from the shot. The only downside is that I don't know any UK stockists of them

    I bought mine from ebay

I bought mine from ebay in the US but the archery shop sell the tunerz version for about 30 but it did not show up on the website, if you e-mail them they will give you the details

Also check out the thread on damping a prestige as the STS etc are discussed there

    sts

I am making my own version because I think that as an Engineer I can make a better looking item than the STS's I have seen on their site (also cheaper!)
It's the big clunky block that just looks so crude to me.
I'm sure it does a good job but I can make a smaller one.
Sounds like it's worth the effort.

I thought it looked crap but it is very light and I think the extension bar is hollow, it certainly sounds like it, the rubber end is not hard either but is the very soft spongy type that when hit hard gives but is very firm but when moved gently is extremely soft
