Trophy Taker rest - long extension?
There have been a few threads on here about eliminating torque by moving your rest back/forward. I understand how this works and also how it can be an alternative to playing with sight extension for the same purpose, but moving the rest back is particularly useful for me - as I need to move my sight extension all the way in for 90m.
I recall someone mentioned buying a Trophy Taker with a "long extension mount" - i.e. the arrow support could be moved back (towards the wrist) more than is possible with the standard Trophy Taker rest. Any idea where I can buy one of these in the UK?
Would this rest work on a Hoyt with a tec bar (Vantage Elite / Contender Elite)?
I don't really want to spend £100+ on importing a Britesite "Jesse mount" or AAE Freakshow from the States if I can help it, but I guess I would do this if that was the only way.
Thanks!

I made two, one for my Alphamax and one for a friend. Don't use mine, if you are interested.

The extended TT mount won't work with a Tec Bar. The mount is based on the standard template but duplicated. Therefore the minimum that one can move the bar back is greater than the remaining gap between the rest and the Tec bar when using the standard mount. A mate has machined up a facsimile without the central buttress, to move my rest back the last few mm.

Seems like I could earn some pin money making these to order, Bespoke Extensions; no needles in the scalp and no bald patches.

not sure I quite follow this - could you perhaps expand? Does that mean that you can mount the rest behind the tec bar if you move the bar back more than the minimum (which I would have thought is the idea, as long as you don't go beyond 6cm)? and of course accepting there will some part of the range where you cannot test (i.e. that "backwards extension" where the tec bar would interfere with the rest arm itself)? Or am I misunderstanding?
I am also taking up Geoffretired on his very kind offer though, so maybe that solves the issue for me.

I think he's saying that at its shortest positioning the doubled up TT won't fit with a Tec Bar, because of a support halfway along the hole where the rest is fixed to the riser. So even set as close to the riser as possible it won't fit.
As has been said, clickers sell it, there's a picture of it on their site that shows what I'm on about.

It's an X
The longer TT mount will not fit Hoyts with a Tec bar. I bought one and tried it, you cant even use it in a 'short setting'. It will not work in any configuration !
3 are a group, 2 are just a coincidence.

What he said. The extension mount is too short to go past the tec bar, and the holes are drilled in the wrong place to make any difference inside the tec bar. Poor design - I can't believe nobody has previously pointed this out to either manufacturer or dealer.

I spoke to Clickers yesterday - the chap was actually really really helpful; and - when I asked about the extended Trophy Taker - was very forthcoming saying that it doesn't fit the Hoyt with Tec bars. I think it would be good if they mentioned this on the website, though.
You'd probably have a very good chance of being able to return it if you mentioned the Sale of Goods Act (and specifically that the rest extension was not "fit for purpose") (where you bought it in person, though, it could be argued that you should have taken your bow to see if it would fit) or the Distance Selling Regulations (where you bought it via internet) - in terms of which you have a 7 day "cooling off" period (i.e. you have a right to cancel and get a refund, no questions asked).

To be honest, I don't feel that hard done by. I'm gonna sound like a berk, but eleven quid compared to what I've spent on Archery recently is not significant. I splerged on a Beiter rest that doesn't go back *at all*! But I did that before my DL increase so that's just one of those things.
I've given the TT bracket to a metallurgist friend who has worked up a basic version (with no central support) and is starting work on a version for micro adjust versions. He can play around with my one to his heart's content.
Even on the Clickers front, they have always been helpful in the past so no gripe there either.
Maybe I've been drinking too much of the Archery Kool-Aid 8-)
