    Dear Mr. ianB,

Of course. Who are the beneficiaries of a system that determines suitability for performance within a competitive tournament structure from criteria that places demonstrated ability to perform in a competitive tournament structure so low on the list of priorities, if not the mountebanks? Who makes it so much more difficult to encourage honest transparency and the improvement of the sport's integrity if not the Apologists who mindlessly defend the indefensible?

I believe that LMK is absolutely correct in his view; this is an opportunity to re shape AGB, close Lilleshall and reconnect with the regions - get rid of the clique that currently delivers our performance and competition structure and allow a more connected sport.", but sadly I think that it is unlikely that the sport is sufficiently important in the esteem of its membership for them to care to grasp that opportunity.

    Best Regards

No selection system - FPP or otherwise, will ever prevent what is alleged in the media reports. This is an alleged behavioural issue and humans have circumvented every procedure ever written. Rewriting selection rules will be little more than blowing froth in this instance.

You are clearly, Munsterman, only choosing to focus upon a specific allegation within the whole picture painted by thinblueline. The degree of myopia in an archery coach is astonishing, but then perhaps not. The picture is of a malaise in culture and I think for the most part that is what has been focussed upon until you. The culture is also behavioural. Part of the behaviour is denial.

Munsterman has a valid point - whilst FPP undeniably has significant merit as a selection process, this particular instance is of a coach abusing their position with a student and an alleged cover up by person or persons currently unnamed.

Even with FPP, archers who aspire to attain their greatest potential will have to make use of a coachatbsome point. Whether that coach be part of a current "pathway" system or a privately employed and funded individual it is possible that abuse of the coach/student relationship might occur.

All sports and organisations are working incredibly hard to ensure safeguarding is at the heart of their operating system rooting out historic failures and endeavouring to provide an open and safe environment for all.

Should the claims in the OP's BBC report prove to be upheld then with other testimonies, such as posted by thinblueline, all those who have been involved at whatever level do indeed need to be removed and a major shift in reporting and operational procedures must be instituted with immediate effect, if necessary with significant input from external professional organisations dedicated to safeguarding, management & coaching practises.

Funding doesn't at this point need to be rescinded I feel but should be held as a sanction if the correct degree of change is not forthcoming.

    Mr. Corax67,

FPP would shift the power and control back to the archer where it belongs. FPP is honest and uncorruptable and must be in place if ever AGB are to progress. What is wrong with you all not to see this????

No, Corax, Munsterman's point is myopic and he chooses to only focus upon one specific incident within the whole picture. Munsterman does not, for instance, focus at all upon the issues within the picture painted by thinblueline concerning failures to properly follow protocols in such cases. Munsterman chooses also not to dwell upon the ability of coaches to determine selection / deselection as portrayed by thinblueline. Further, Munsterman simply discounts any consideration that any such failures might be institutionalised to the degree that it actually facilitates the probability of the kind of behaviour, that he does focus upon, occurring. For example, what happens in Vegas might stay in Vegas but where is the line between an understandable desire to retain a proper discretion and confidentiality within a training camp and enforced silence about behaviour that is undesirable?
