Definitive GNAS/FITA rounds list wanted!

OK, I admit it, I'm fairly new to this whole archery thing. I haven't even competed yet. I'm not a club member at the moment. Etc, etc, etc. Hopefully this will change soon.

However, I cannot find a definitive explanation of GNAS and FITA men's and women's indoor/outdoor rounds. I've searched on the board, but I've only found bits and pieces. I've looked on the FITA site and couldn't seem to find anything. The GNAS rule book pdf won't open. Robbo's spreadsheet is great because it lists loads of rounds, but I don't how many dozen arrows are shot at what distance (unless it's clear from the round name). You've got Half FITAs, Herefords, FITA 28, Bristol V, etc. That's a lot to remember!

And then I wondered about rankings. Are most UK competitions GNAS rounds? Do you need to search out FITA rounds to shot to get that ranking? Barry C pointed out that his club only shoots FITA rounds to be in line with the rest of the world. My head is spinning. Am I making this more complicated than it is?

Maybe I'm thick, maybe there is something here or online that I've totally missed. Maybe I'm experiencing information overload and my brain has completely shut down. If there is something out there that I've missed, please point me in the right direction. If not, I think it would be a handy resource to have on AIUK. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to have a definitive list of GNAS and FITA men's and women's indoor and outdoor rounds.

well i guess the *defintive* list of the international fita target rounds (from april 2006) is that on page 50-52 of book 1 of the fita rules. It's not as clear as the more simple explanations posted above, but if you want to be absolutly sure:

Certainly several countries other than us have their own rounds too, it's just that in the UK we seem to have few more of those than usual!

edit: oh and to answer your other question: you take your best three scores from full 144 arrow fita rounds and best two scores from 70m rounds and your best two h2h elements to get a national ranking.
Yes you have to search these rounds out, travel somewhat, and plan well in advance (most of the april shoots are already full).
Mayflower archers tournament list highlights these rounds well (there's a link on this board somewhere).

Moo, my problem with the bloody FITA rulebook is that I can't get the pdf to open, despite having the latest version. But I thank you for the link. Hopefully, I'll get that sorted to I can view it. But ta muchly for the rankings explanation!!

not sure which spreadsheet you are talking about clicki i have two out there (i think), i have the scorecards one that does all the maths for you plus a basic spreadsheet which lists all the rounds, how many arrows at each distance plus the classification scores needed at each round.

Robbo, I can't download the individual scorecards from your website. It keeps saying there's an error.

BTW, you should change the link in your signature from the thread that discusses your spreadsheet to the actual website. I had to dig through all the replies to find it!

yeah i've been meaning to change it for a while so the download page on the website explains what it all does. Just been too busy shooting recently to do much else. Once the page is done i'll change the link.

Only one small thing - outdoor scoring for FITA rounds is X 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 - inner 10 is recorded as X scored as 10.

Count X's as tie break

I was about to recommend robbos charts - outdoor anyway (do you have indoors robbo?), best I've come across. The added info for classification scores is the icing on the cake, and we know how popular that is around here :)

That might the problem... I currently use Acrobat version 4.0. It seems to be more or less trouble free. There may be some PDF files out there it can't cope with, but if so, I haven't found them yet. Adobe seems addicted to feature bloat.

haven't done indoors yet tel, will get it sorted and let you know when it's ready. Been busy working on a spreadsheet for our internal summer league this year based on the handicap system. Have managed to get the whole thing automated in excel, i just enter each score and it does the rest, nightmare but worth it.

I've already made sure clickerati has a copy of the spreadsheets, even if the 10meg file blocked up the whole internet for 1/2 hr :raspberry
