Cheapest good quality compound rest

I'm looking for a rest that's good enough quality that it's not going to fall apart or negatively effect my shooting, but is cheap enough for a skint student to buy. Basically something that's good enough to shoot in competition that's as cheap as possible, any recommendations?

Thanks in advance :)

if you're using a release aid, something like the Merlin Apollo rest is a reasonably priced Trophy Taker blade-style copy...

so you'd say the cheaper ones like the NAP Quiktune or AEE Stinger that are on ebay at the moment are no good? A launcher for ?20 does seem a bit too good to be true

I don't know them, though I prefer blades to prongs (which I believe the NAP is) as you can just stick a 10 blade on, set the height/centreshot and leave it be... whereas with the prongs you also have to get the prongs the right width apart. Can they be shot very well, most certainly, I just prefer and have more experience with blades. If you're looking on ebay, there are usually trophy takers to be found there. If you go that way, get one with micro-adjust if you can, makes it easier to set up.

The NAP is a nice little rest, I've heard nothing bad about them, my 3000 is excellent. If you are looking for a cheap blade rest, Arthur's mate is selling Decut Suntec launchers for ?14, one adorns my Bowtech Specialist, as good as a TT and more robust.

Ive just installed an Allen 173 drop away on my compound bow..it replaced one of the hostage whisker types..

it was cheap enough even though I had to pay for the postage from the USA... bought on ebay for about ?25-28 sorry I cant find the accurate price
its made a vast improvement to my performance, previously my wobbling was pulling and pushing the shots here and there... now I am getting good groups

The Trophy Takers are good, but do be careful with the Allen Key. Blade rests are easily interchangeable. Micro adjustment is great then you leave it in position for ever once you have found your sweet spot. The Beiter rest is great for adjustability, but at a cost.

Prongs are no good as you need perfect form to shoot them. I have tried in the past and the results were shocking over a blade rest.

Prong rests have no real give in them and will transmit any movement to the arrow.

get a cheap Allen drop away rest.. ebay from America... works out a good price total despite the high postage costs.. any drop away much better than any of the whisker rests.. my accuracy improved vastly when I swapped to one
