Shibuya ultima or dual click

Hello. I'm about to upgrade my sight and thinking about shibuya ultima or dual click. Has anyone tried both? Grateful to have your advice. :cheerful:
By the way I've been shooting for almost a year and at the moment I'm using the SF junior sight.

Both very good sight..only difference is the dual click has a thumb screw which needs to be unlocked anytime you wish to adjust. With the ultima you'll only have to twist the top part.
You won't regret choosing a shibuya. I personally have the ultima and love it to bit...never ever had any trouble with it.

YES...although the dual click is very well built, it can be a trouble to unscrew the thumb lock adjust your sight then locking it again. With the ultima you either turn the knob or push and slide. I definitely do not regret getting the ultima over the dual click. And its a sight that you can keep for years and years and is requires minimal maintenance.

To give another perspective;
I have had both for a number of years, and while I very much like the ultima, I am a little disappointed with it. After 4 years of use the Ultima is feeling distinctly worn and sloppy, the click adjusters in particular have become uneven, tight on one side loose on the other. While the dual click, which I have owned and used for longer, still feels good and solid.

While I think they are both great sights; If I was buying a replacement today, I think it would be a dual click.

The thumb screw itself does not bother me. I have a WinWin WS600 with the same system and it works very well and it is not that harder to adjust than the Ultima (that I have on my other bow - TBH I like the WS600 better).

I bought the Dual click with aluminum extension arm and I sold it right away because I just could not make it stop vibrating against the riser mounting block no mather how hard I tightened it. Maybe the one with carbon extension works better but then the price difference is not that high as far as I remember. If you can afford the Ultima, go for it. However (on a second thought) the Carbon Dual click has the advantage of being simpler mechanicaly and as archer_dk pointed out above, less things to wear and get loose.

I have a Carbon Ultima on one bow and a Dual Click Carbon Extreme (carbon extension and vertical track) on the other.

I prefer the adjustment on the dual click - probably because I've been shooting that type of sight since 96. Old dog new tricks - you'd think it was a "small" difference but i still need to look at the vertical adjustment on the Ultima to make sure i'm going the right way :) I don't like the plastic block on the DC and I have seen these with cracks and stress marks. Although mine is still OK.

However there is no question that on my bows (RX and HPX) the Ultima is quieter in use. I have seen a few Ultimas "wear out" but not sure why - some seem to just keep OK with masses of use, others seem to deteriorate. I do wonder if there was a "not quite right" batch maybe 2 or 3 years into the production.

I like the feel of the Shibuya Carbon extension - didn't like the alloy extension Shibuyas or the Sure-Loc extreme but that is personal. Like the difference between feel of forged and billet machined risers. You tend to just prefer a feel.

Mind you when I got my Ultima it was ?145 which was a bit more palatable! However I'm sure here will be a bunch of Axcel's and Ultimas on eBay in the near future as the "must have the latest gear" folks upgrade to the new Axcel sight :)

I would say that if you have problems with bits of kit shaking loose then chances are there is something not right in your setup - tiller, brace height, arrow weight etc. Look there first before changing kit. Mind you I have seen stuff that seems to not work due to incompatibility in a specific setup - usually the issue is just noise though.
