Ok, I'm looking for a new longbow and one of my novices is also looking for a longbow and there's something I've been meaning to find out before I buy a new bow and the same applies to my novice.
I know Yew is traditionally the best wood to make a longbow from and there's lots of reasons for making laminates and using combinations of woods.
But what about other woods? What's sycamore like to shoot? or Ash? Is there any particular type of wood I should definately avoid?
Any input would be valued,
Thanks,
Gino.
