    Silhouettes...

There are a few weeks in the middle of the summer when the sun is setting far enough north that it's possible to take silhouetted photos and still be shooting down the range. It was a bit cloudy today (for a change), but I wanted to test the settings on my camera to see what was possible, with the hope of maybe doing some more later in the week.

    Surrey Archery Weekend - saturday

So, last weekend were stages 4 & 5 of the National Tour, which were hosted in South London at the Surrey Archery Weekend. The weather was again hot (hitting 33C, and staying +30C for several hours).

These photos are all from the Saturday (Sunday will follow later), and the full album can be found HERE

    Surrey Archery Weekend - sunday

So, the second day of SAW (and Leg 5 of the National Tour) continued to be far too hot and sunny (oh, remember those wet summers we used to have?). Some of the top archers weren't present, mostly because they were trying to convince RyanAir to let them check the bows to go to the Berlin World Cup, but that just meant more chances for everyone else! The full album is found HERE

    Youth Festival - day 1

Well, as it looks like I'm on the road for a while, I figured I might as well make use of the hotel's wifi to start catching you guys up on the AGB Youth Festival that was held last week.

The first day was open practice and the 720 qualifying round. However 40mph gusts & heavy rain meant that open practice was cancelled. But it got a bit better come the afternoon so the qualifying round went ahead. The full album can be found HERE

more to follow at a later date...

    Youth Festival - day 2

the second day of the Youth Festival was a nicer day than the first, though still quite blustery. It was also quite busy with individual matches, Youth Olympic Games qualifier and the Junior Euronation team matches. The full album is up HERE, but here are a few teasers...
