    feather waterproofing

evening all, has anyone tried using silicone spray to waterproof their feathers. looks like tomorrow may be damp grass wise and last time the fletches kept folding up due to the damp. haven't got any proper fletch waterproofer so thinking of alternatives

Silicone spray should be fine but I prefer Scotchgard Fabric Protector Spray Multi Purpose unscented 400 ml

tried silicon spray but it softened the fletching tape and they came loose, luckily tried it on older arrows, next test is scotchguard

Shoe weather spray works for me. You can get waterproofing powder that does work, though with the initial release of the arrow be prepared to be covered in a white cloud.

I read that the powder doesn't last long, so I was looking for a longer lasting alternative as my arrows spend a lot of time hiding in the grass!
