One of our club compounders misfired on an indoor range; punched a hole straight through a window (it was otherwise unbroken) and just left the vanes in a neat pile. The arrow was never found.

I find the power of compound bows both fascinating and a little intimidating.

On my last field (2nd one ever) shoot four groups happened to meet up; one spotted a boss very roughly 70 yards through a load of trees up a steep hill; almost everyone had a go, mostly experienced recurvers but also an incredibly powerful crossbower. I “guessed” the sight marking (I use my cheap xx75s for field so have no markings beyond 50 yards) and thump; straight in the middle of the boss.

I hated myself for the brief smug grin I tried desperately to wipe off my face.

    Awesome bits of kit.

Sadly, I'm still asked with worrying regularity "is it ok to shoot my bow at home"

Heehee I bet the others weren't too pleased with you either. But at least you could like your self very soon afterwards!!

It was quite funny but taken in good humour. They’re a really nice bunch.
