Angry Stand by for the knee jerk reaction.

Diffidently not the type of publicity our sport needs.

the only knee-jerk reactions tend to come from archers going "oh no, this is going to be terrible for our sport" than anything else... there are news reports of someone shooting someone (usually crossbow) every 3-4 months... plus the stories about swans, geese, cats who are spotted with bolts in them...
Knowing is half the battle, the other half is violence

The following is supposed to be funny... not serious.

Me sir, me sir! Can I give give a knee jerk reaction please
"Some idiot with a compound in his back garden who doesn't know how far it will shoot, gets a glancing blow off something or other and has no idea where it went !"
Ahhhh, I feel better for that .
    Just for checks and balances.
"Some idiot buys a longbow and inappropriate arrows off Ebay, doesn't know how far it will shoot, gets a glancing blow off something or other and has no idea where it went !"
It will be wonderful for our sport, they do say there is no such thing as bad publicity.

resisting the urge to looking through the threads on the Archery UK facebook page to see if there are any going "I've bought a bow and arrows and wondering what to do next" from people who are local to the event...

Don't worry Del, the photo of the arrow looked like it wasn't a longbower… at least not one shooting wooden arrows!

It looked like a cheap ebay carbon shaft with a screw-in field point, to me.
