Samick Extreme

These dont seem to be very popular which is strange, maybe because only Alternative sell them.

They are?very well made, with a fantastic pearl white finish. They are as smooth as G3, as fast or faster than G3 and a good ?100 cheaper! Everytime I see someone with G3 I think "fool" ;) They are stable and are torque resistant. Not only pound for pound the best limbs available but also possible in outright performance too.

Try them if you can, you?might like them.

I'm starting to get the feeling you don't like me, Barry ;)

Buy your G3s from the right place and you'll get them a ?100 cheaper than they are in the UK. And I really don't think the Pearl White finish of the Extremes would go with my bow's colour scheme :)

Nonsence I like everyone. Limbs in the UK are expensive, especially Hoyt when compared to USA prices. Did you import them? Bet you didnt pay tax ;) Nice.

I first noticed the Extreme when the Chinese and the Korean Jang Yong Ho used them in Athens. I hear Galiazzo is also using them. Some people are Hoyt all they way, but should consider these excellent limbs when shopping, especially when shopping in the UK ;)

Unfortunately I got stung for some tax but they were still a lot cheaper than what we'd pay in the UK :)

Barry C - 22/5/2005 1:31 AM how much did it all cost including the sting?

?230 + ?40 sting and ?15 shipping: total = ?285

At the time of buying Archeryworld (the local shop) was doing them for around ?370 I think they're down to about ?350 now.

I should point out though that the shipping should have been around ?15?more but there was a couple of problems so Ken reduced the shipping charge.

My wife is using Extremes now and loves them. Smooth fast and accurate. Her tarining buddy handed back a PSE X-Factor to change to Samick with Extreme limbs and finds them a much smoother limb.

I puchased a set of Samick Extreme limbs 70ins 32lbs with a GMX and set everything up correctly. My sight marks with my set of 70ins 32lbs 900cx and G3s where lower than my samick sight marks at 70mtrs. My samicks shot 654 at 70mtrs but the 900s and the G3s could only manage 649 and 644 but at 90mtrs the samicks where falling 4 feet short when the others where going in the seven ring can you explain that?

Thank you

32lb Samick Extremes equate to 34lb anything else because of the way Samick measures the poundage of their limbs.

That's down to your style (presumably you were dropping your bowarm to watch the arrow), there's nothing wrong with the limbs.

I've shot both G3s and Extremes at 42#.

Sight marks for the extremes are much higher than the G3s - they are significantly faster, but I can't say whether all of that can be put down to the way that the Samcks are measured. I'd say not.
The G3's, though, are much more stable at full draw. The Samicks just want to go!

3 FPS doesn't equate to "significantly faster" I'm afraid, despite your opinion ...

I can, it does.

I'd go along with that ...

Yes, the Extreme BF is a different limb altogether ...

So the Samick Extreme STANDARD carbon foam core limbs at ?327.14 are ?100 cheaper than Hoyt G3 Parabolic foam Technology limbs at ?326.12?????

I'm only a simple engineer, but something doesn't add up here.

Mike still :dizzy:

I think it's your sums.
?327.14 Samick Extreme
?326.12 Hoyt G3

Means the Samicks are ?1.02 more than the Hoyts. I'm not sure where you get ?100 from ...?

32lb Samick Extremes equate to 34lb anything else because of the way Samick measures the poundage of their limbs.
I think this is false. Samick measure draw-weight at 26" to the button, whereas other measure 28" to a point arbitrarily chosen to be 1.75" in front of the button (so effectively at 26.25"). Hence you pull Samick limbs 0.25" less, and get the same poundage as other limbs.

0.25" of drawlength corresponds to ~0.5# of draw-weight. It's best to say that Samick limbs will come out 0.5# heavier than other limbs at the same drawlength.
3 FPS doesn't equate to "significantly faster" I'm afraid, despite your opinion ...
If you're pulling limbs 3fps slower than the competition, that equates to about 1.5# of draw weight you don't need to be pulling, purely because you made a bad choice. Whether that's 'significant' or not is manifestly a matter of the shooter's opinion. I'm not clear as to what absolute gauge of significance you are trying to use, but it wont work.

ps. I have a pair of Extremes. LLLLLLLLLOVE 'EM!
