Where to buy a folding wooden bow rest?

My field bow has a bulky handle that doesnt sit nicely in those aluminium bow stands all the recurve shooters I see use - last week someone turned up at my club with a folding wooden stand that supported the risers. It looked home made, with three bits of wood and a pair of brass hinges allowing it to fold flat

Anyone know where to buy such a thing?

Longbow emporium, clickers and a few others have them. I've seen plans online too but I can't find any at the moment.

Is that just for when you're standing around waiting for the off?
A lot of field clubs have a row of 'coat-hooks' for hanging bows from.

If you're shooting field then you're not going to be carrying the bow rest around with you! Most of the time it'll be sitting in the assembly area empty.

Or are you shooting 'target'? In which case ignore me. :) (you said 'field bow' so I assumed you were shooting field courses)

err, currently I shoot barebow target with my field bow, thats because I am yet to be approved as competent to shoot with NFAS. So this is target line item, also my daughter shoots longbow/horsebow in target so it would serve them well too

because NFAS clubs seem to be starting up much more slowly than Archery GB the local target club is my only option currently. I have actually ordered a Gillo barebow set up to use for target and may do both disciplines for a while, to get to good form

In the past I got bored of target because my club was all about discipline, kit setup and scores, and definitely not about flinging arrows for fun- which seems to be more an NFAS thing

That is the way I started but got fed up with the AGB messing us all around and the rigidity of many clubs, now I am NFAS all the way
