I have shot a tree in a flight shoot before. It was about 200 yards away and I was too close to the end of the line and a bit of a breeze did the rest

Hi Kidcurry, yes I found out all I needed to know. There was a link to a set of helpful paged written out by an archer from Sussex archery.

thanks to the folks who shared everything in this thread, clout wasnt really on my radar but really want to give it a go now, my youngest thinks it sounds ace

I love it because you dont have a target face to distract you. It is more about getting your body into line and then getting a decent release and having a large object in front of you to distract you from doing this properly can be a disadvantage

I agree. It's a great way to learn how to launch arrows with no fears of missing.

Clout's one of the things I miss the most I think. I haven't shot in about a year now, due to changed circumstances, but I used to do clout about once year, and despite numerous kit changes, always ended up with the same sight mark for 140 yards (between my first and second knuckles on my left hand.
