Views on AGB's Club Management System.

I’m in agreement with Andy.D AGB seem to exist for the benefit of themselves and a few elite archers. It thought it maybe makes some kind of sense if you are a target only archer But seemingly not. Our club left because we could see no point in paying double for nothing...

    AGB

£3 according to their page. Still, £85 to shoot 2 competitions on top of entry fees is just not on. My gripe is why is there not a non AGB entry fee for other organisations archers? Other flavours of archery has this - is it AGB arrogance?

    AGB

Dunno about SA, never had anything to do with them. The cost of AGB etc seems expensive to me..Probably all the paid staff and buildings they have, expenses for volunteers? I’d have no issues paying if I was going to get something out of it but target archery isn’t my thing and as far as I’m...

    AGB

I only shoot Field 2/3D and there are no AGB field ranges in Scotland any more, (we left and have tripled our membership since) If I only had to join SA then I would but such is the bureaucracy of AGB/SA I can’t see that happening sadly.

    AGB

I’d like to shoot a couple, like 2, competitions next year but they are held at AGB clubs.. Can you shoot at them without forking out £100 on fees for other organisations that it seems I would also have to join? Other flavours of archery allow you to shoot at their competitions for the entry...

Wanted - Recurve full set up - Left hand

The limbs are Long WNS Elite Alpha foam Carbon -should be 38 lbs at 70” but on the Elite Riser they scale at 35 lbs. If you bought the riser - £200 - that comes with plunger and rest I’d throw in the limbs. Postage at your cost. (I’ve already sold the Kinetic Vygo - it was bending..)

    Calories burnt in field archery.

How many additional calories does swearing and thrashing about with an arrow rake burn??

    Non ILF limbs

I know nothing about them but suspect the cost of a Boyer making a custom set of limbs would far exceed buying another bow…

    Riser Contact

I’d have a play around with the tiller and nock height - after checking alignment. Could you get someone to video you shooting to see that the ‘big hook timing’ is spot on?

Surprising sensitivity to point weight in recurve tuning

I ruined some arrows trying to bareshaft tune them. Weak, cut, weak, cut, weak, cut…getting there. weak, cut. Still weak?WTF? Check everything on the bow - limb alignment locking grub screw missing…..

Wooden arrows - Colours? Danish Oil coating?

I used two coats of Danish oil, usually a darker stain as I thought it looked a bit better.

    Personality wars..

Following on from wott I wrote on the shout box. Is archery particularly bad for folk falling out? The reason I ask is there seems to be a fair few vendettas going about- I know people who won’t shoot with someone they dislike even leaving a club so they’d never meet them. When I was involved...
