    Fivics Limb Bolts

Does anyone know the furthest point out you can safely unwind the limb bolts on a Fivics Vellator riser? I let the limbs out a bit but the thread on the limb bolt was soon showing. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of adjustment and can't find anything in googleland.

    Limb Length Selection

Tried some medium limbs today and the sight marks were lower despite the limbs being heavier than my current set up. I reckon I'm just not working the limbs enough with my draw length. So shorts it is. And more SPTs! Thanks for the advice guys.

    Limb Length Selection

Thanks Stretch. Lots of food for thought there. I'm currently shooting Uukha EH1s with a 4mm tiller. I've just got hold of a set of medium limbs which are a bit heavier than my Uukhas. Will do some experimentation over the next week or so and see how they compare.

    Limb Length Selection

Thanks for your reply. I do shoot with stabs. Re tiller settings what would you say effects the jumpiness more- larger or smaller tiller difference?

    Limb Length Selection

I've been shooting short limbs for a while (27" draw length) but am thinking of going up to mediums. I know the shot is supposed to be more "forgiving" and I have certainly found the short limbs a bit jumpy at times. This seems to be magnified at longer distances. Has anyone else made this...

    Comfort vs Speed

After talking to Sid I went for 65" Flemish twist string for my 66" bow (Hex 7.2s). The 8125g string at 64.5" just didn't have enough twists to get down to a low enough brace height.

Anybody with experience of changing from Hex 6.6 to CVX / Hex 7.2 / Hex 7.5 ?

I've had my limbs for about two weeks now - but haven't had the chance to shoot them much yet. However I did discover the 64.5" string was too short. Sid recommended a 65" flemish twist which definately works for getting down to the requiered brace height (6.5-7"). My set up is a 25" Uukha...

Anybody with experience of changing from Hex 6.6 to CVX / Hex 7.2 / Hex 7.5 ?

One more...! Sid has told me I'll need a low brace height - 6.5 to 7". So I guess the 64 1/2" string would give me more leverage in terms of getting a short bh? Cheers

Anybody with experience of changing from Hex 6.6 to CVX / Hex 7.2 / Hex 7.5 ?

I've ordered some 7.2h's - 66" bow 36lbs. Will a 65" string do the job? I've been told by Borders that it'll need 8-9" loop serving and I'm thinking 16 strand 8125G. Tried to contact a string maker but not received a reply and Borders haven't as yet clarified recommended string length. Any help...

    Comfort vs Speed

I'm currently shooting W&W Graphene limbs 38lbs/66"Bow/27" draw length. The limbs are terifically fast but feel a bit 'dead'. I moved to these to reach 90m whilst not having to shoot too high a poundage. They've done the job admirably but they're not much fun to shoot. From the Border range...

    Graphene vs Velos

Hi All I'm currently shooting the W&W Graphene limbs which are unbeliveably quick. I do however find them a bit 'dead'. Very probably they're too good a limb for my limited skills. Has anyone tried and compared these with the Velos limbs which I believe give a smoother shot. And how do these...

    Brace Height Slipping

Hi All My brace height keeps slipping whilst I shoot. Even after a few ends today it moved from 8 5/8" to 8 1/2" after just a few ends. Its a new string but I've had this happen a lot. Is this a common problem? Shooting recurve 38# short limbs. Apologies if this is a dumb question.

    Fletch size Indoor & Outdoor

Hi All I'm currently shooting 2" spin wings on a 38# recurve. I heard somewhere that smaller vanes are preferable outdoors (I have a pack of the same fletches in 1.75"). Any thoughts?

    Limb Length

Hi all I'm currently shooting a 66" recurve with a 25" riser and short limbs. Is it feasible to change to a 23" riser and use medium limbs? I understand the longer the limb the more "forgiving" the shot. Ta.
