The axe that the Victoria Bowmen have been dreading fell at last. Bureaucratic inertia can last only so long. We've been bullied off the field by B.C.Transit, a senior Crown corporation. Our last shoot was August 15. Those of us who have keys to the containers where the butts were kept, and who have back yards, are the lucky ones who can still shoot outdoors. (Nudge & wink) The apartment and condo dwellers will have to wait until the indoor season starts in October. This will be the second field the club has lost since I've been a member. It's in the lap of the Archery Gods now, those supernatural beings to whom archers sacrifice arrows periodically. They've come through before, and may, I pray again.
