Wallace collection, they have a lot of fake swords.I second that emotion, Geophys2, who else has Damascus steel lying around? What, no SCA armourers?
It helps to keep the index and middle fingers separated.Looks great.
Why is there such a long steel pin protruding please?

Interesting - ok - makes sense.KidCurry shoots three under string walking. The metal peg is not for the purpose of separating his fingers for Mediterranean style, that's why it's just a peg rather than a finger spacer. I believe, from my failing memory, that he uses it as a locator to ensure that the tab is in the correct vertical position, which is important when string walking as moving the tab up or down in your hand is the equivalent of moving your sights. I suspect it also helps with any tendency for the tab to rotate. After he initially put one onto his Spigarelli tab, I tried the same on my barebow tab and it greatly improves tab stability.
It is a mix of different metals. It can corrode if not looked after but no different from any carbon steel knife. Will it not corrode? Or does it have stainless properties?
Looks great, by the way,
