Finger Sling Material

Hi, I'm trying to source the cord that is used to make Quick style finger slings and ones such as this. If somebody could point me in the right direction as to where I could find this material it would be much appreciated.

I'm also taking that the rubber tubing is that like used for fish tanks or fuel tubes in rc models.

A ship's chandler near me sells all sorts of cord.I bought mine for d-loops but some might be suitable for slings, they do all sorts of sizes.

I use tent guy line for mine and use fuel line for remote controlled cars. I use the double design now as they don't slip off the fingers, in fact they tighten up on the fingers!

I made mine from Para cord & some heat shrink tubing from Maplins....

Took a couple of attempts to get the length right, but it has worked fantastically ever since!!!

What do you mean by double design?? As per the photos that I posted of finger slings??

Pass the finger sling through one of the loops, then through the other! The length of cord is longer on this design though.

I use a strip of leather with two cuts along the length, one for finger one for thumb. It feels as if there is nothing between the bow grip and my hand; and very easy to put on or take off.

Peth, I wouldn't know how to! Imagine your finger sling with a piece of rubber tube in the middle and two smaller pieces at either end, making loops for finger and thumb. pass the whole sling through one of the loops and do the same through the other loop. you now have a double loop sling which tightens up on finger and thumb. This sling is roughly twice as long as a single sling.

I use a lace at the moment... I tried a wrist sling but couldn't get on with it. I have just bought a super sling... will see how it works out before I commit to making them.

Boot lace, like Harry says. Youtube search for 'tying a finger sling'

Otherwise, Woodie made me one from Paracord and Tubing from fish tank air line (if I remember correctly) - worked a treat.

See post #4

If you use the heat shrink tube....it also eliminates the need to tie knots!!! Makes for a nice smooth sling that works REALLY well!!!

The ends of the para cord can be melted together - no knots required. But yes, heatshrink tubing would hold these ends together (softening the air tubing and pushing it over the loop does the same thing.

I couldn't find any appropriate fish tank tubing for the job. However pneumatic airline tubing looks to be the most best choice for this application. The quicks tubing looks to be OD 8mm and ID 5mm.

You can get a variety of colors of it aswell if you really want to be fancy.

It's me that sells these on EBay. (in response to the original question) If you really want some of this material rather than buy than made-up slings contact me and I'll let you have some at a fair price. I do have a reasonable amount of spare material. I'm not selling these slings for profit so don't think you will save a fortune by making them yourself!

eBay My World - martinc950

Having said that, if you look at my other EBay listings you will see that I also sell "superior" slings which are made out of especially high quality material including "2 tone" colours. You won't find these anywhere else and the material comes from a specialist supplier so is less easy to source.

If you look at the double looped version you will see how these are put together. (Picture worth a 1000 words etc)

There are hundreds of very happy archers who have bought these from me. Give one a try - you won't be dissappointed.

Hi, Darryl,
FWIW I can vouch for Martins slings....brought some on Ebay a while back and very good they are too and flit between one of his slings and a wrist sling.
Martin can make them to fit, smaller, larger etc. if you let him know .........and he threw in freebies at the time, very good sevice.
Love my double loop one.

Hello Martin,
Didn't know you you were on here.
