Hi, can anyone recommend a good book for string making for my longbow, seen many books advertised but want to spend my penny's on a good recomendation.
If your interest in the subject is very broad and you are into natural materials The Traditional Bowyers Bible vol 2 has a very good chapter on making strings from all sorts of materials.
I used the instructions therein to make a flemish twist string from linen thread (I usually make continuous loop strings).
Its not cheap but it covers loads of other stuff too and is a good read if you are interested in making bows and doing stuff.
Otherwise it's prob worth trawling youtube. I found some good stuff on there on how to use a serving tool, having bought one and didn't know how to use it!
