Hi guys,

I have a Bodnik Blackfoot but im a little over bowed at 40# (44# finger release) although i love the bow im not enjoying it as much as i should as im abit laboured shooting it, so anyway im wanting to drop down to 35# ,i dont want to drop too much speed/cast if i can help it

I have a short list of 4 bows
So in price order
Buck trail Antelope (recurve maple limbs) ?140ish
Bearpaw Hopi (recurve maple limbs) ?180ish
Buck trail Caribou (recurve bamboo limbs) ?220ish
Bodnik Slick stick (hybrid Bamboo limbs) ?260ish abit over budget but depends

I feel quite sure about a nice looking recurve but wont rule out a hybrid

Opinions and advise on these please :)

I am a novice, been shooting causally for a year, even so im hoping to hopefully get arrow speed similar to my blackfoot, i shoot timbercreek trad carbons at distances about 20-50 meters

Thanks in advance

I don't have much input on advice but if you are in the north, a potential option for you (as I am considering it myself but seller is almost 3 hours away from me and isn't happy to post) - there is a Bodnik Slick Stick available on Facebook from a seller in Bradford. It is 6 months old (29.5 years left warranty) pristine condition and he is asking ?130 for it https://www.facebook.com/groups/161..._post_id=1953755508197983&ref=messenger_share . I thought it may offer a cheaper solution as the slick stick is out your price range normally.

Nice bow at a bargain price but it's a 45lb. Another to think about is the Timber Creek Cottonmouth, 62" hybrid with Bamboo limbs. I love mine, smooth shooting with a pretty good speed. Around the same price as the Slickstick but a few have turned up on Ebay recently.

Thanks guys,

The slick stick is an amazing price at ?130 im looking for a 35# bow, shame :(
Cottonmouth looks nice, ive heard its fast and pretty decent, great idea looking on ebay for them, ill keep an eye out for one
Didnt wolfie come up with the name slick stick? Lol, im not so keen on the name of it,

Another broader question i have if anyone knows, what might be better out of bamboo limbs vs maple with carbon limbs?
