Not as good as any of the other achievements on here but I am still happy with it. Did an hours practice today on my own bow for the first time since completing my beginners course! Lets see what the future holds!

Put in a 532 on a Portsmouth, would have been more if it wasn't for a couple of silly mistakes. This score for me is a personal best, in getting it I also sacrificed a few arrows, two of which were the result of a robin hood.

Started back in archery in September last year, after a very long time away. Managed bronze medal at a triple Portsmouth comp in the November with my Talisman Bronze limbs. Bought my HEX4H limbs in February, received them on a Friday, took gold medal in a triple Worcester comp on the Sunday. Loved them. Went to the SCAS Indoor Champs (double Portsmouth then a team FITA 18) a couple of weeks ago, came 4th in Sussex with a 559, new PB in the second session of 564 up from 560 set in practice, new double Portsmouth PB of 1123, and a new FITA 18 PB of 518 up from 515 set in practice. Had a great day and a lot of it was due to the stability of my Borders. Thank you to both Sids and all at Border.

Using the prototype Ghillie Dhu from horseback.
New PB of 47.87 for a Korean Type B event.

This means nothing to most people so for comparison the last British Championships were won with a score of 33.35. And that was using targets that were 60% bigger than I had.

A second PB in 6 days: I took the Ghillie Dhu around the field course on Saturday and put a good couple of dozen onto my previous best. Finished on 412 over 36 targets and for the first time I can remember, returned with the same number of arrows as I started with!

Spark - Well done, glad you've got your enthusiasm back :)

Not to diminish your successes in any way, but this is a thread in which Border shooters post about their achievements :)

This weekend the Ghillie Dhu entered its first formal competition at the Forces Equine Games. First place (is this the first time that the winner of an archery competition has been awarded a rosette, I ask myself?).

Next up: GB v Sweden 1st-2nd June in Hemel Hempstead.

Many thanks to you Sid, for explaining my problem with my stringwalking. I raised the nocking point, stiffened my button and wound in my limbs one turn. Bow is much quieter, and today in our Selby Postal Comp (Short Metric) I shot a 540. So a new PB at the S/M and at both distances. I missed the county record by 6 points, but I do have claims in for the FITA 70 and FITA 50 rounds.

Just shot a FITA 70 and have added 33 points to my PB. Scored 500, so will be putting in another county claim. Doug

Just returned from my summer vacation were I shot two tournaments. First was the Eastern Archery Championships at Sharpsville Pa. The Fita scores were dampened by thunderstorms but the clout went superbly. Using my hex6bb2 limbs I shot probably the best clout round I've ever had. I scored a 6 gold on the third end and won the event going away. I think I hit the flag at least 4 times. The next tournament was the U.S. National Championships at Hamilton Ohio. The weather was good for the FITA round and I had a PB at 90m by 4 points for a 278. I finished with a 1214 for 22nd place in the mens senior division. The clout was cancelled by a thunderstorm. The speed or the limbs allowed me to shoot a fairly heavy nano 490 with 120 points 43.5lbs otf with good results in the wind. At 70m with an estimated 5-10mph crosswind I was only drifting out to the 8 ring. The smoothness factor allowed my 61 year old shoulders to complete the shoots with no problem. Although I looked I only saw one other set of Borders limbs. A young lady had a set of used CRX's and said she was very pleased with them. I had several favorable comments on the looks of my limbs. Thanks again to the hardworking crew at Borders for producing a brilliant set of limbs for me. Greg

Last weekend was the Commonwealth Archery Champs for Europe (incorporating the Euronations). My first outing in an England shirt.
In very hot sticky conditions my Hex6H BB2s shot me a 1267 Fita (my first GMB score this year) and second place. The next day it managed to score 613 in the 70m round.
Two PBs and a nice feeling of satisfaction!
