Cleaning release aids

Hi

When you clean the parts in a release aid do you add any lubrication to the parts? I remember another archer saying that they are meant to run dry.

Cheers,

I think the rule of thumb is that they should be assembled dry.
On saying that I would think that a smear of graphite grease would do no harm.
Normal lubricant attracts dirt but I believe graphite grease can be used on locks so it should be ok.
The graphite in a pencil lead made a good dry lubricant.

Every so often I spray good old WD 40 in every orrifice, (of the release aid) and let it drip dry and wipe with a cloth! Had mine for 6 years and still good as new.

PX24 is military grade WD40. Its is a silicon base oil totally inert and a little thicker than WD40.
